after being in hospitality design for more than a couple years, the name thomas schoos gets thrown around quite a bit. it really depends on the context of your conversation since he's a designer of many things: residential, hospitality, fabrics, rugs, you name it, he's done it. he's such an inspiration for us in various ways.
originally from germany, he studied as an artist, sculptor, and fashion designer. he made a trip to la where he ended up staying and the rest is history. his various projects include the tao, koi, and the huntley hotel just to name a few. one hospitality project that caught my eye was the morimoto restaurant in napa valley. his color choices and architectural design features blew me away. yet another reason why i will continue to keep him as a inspiration and muse throughout my career. hope this posts finds you well on this friday. enjoy the weekend! jolene.
