i spent a wonderful day with my mother today in ft. worth, tx . first lunching outside at the kimball art museum cafe. after our lunch we then walked across the street to the modern art museum designed by tado ando. both jolene and i have blogged about him in the past and i have wanted to got to the museum for several years now. i finally made it and it was so nice to meander around the galleries taking in all the modern art with my mother. thanks mom for a great day!!! xo amanda
below and above. two robert motherwell paintings were a fantastic surprise! have always loved his work.

i was so impressed by how ando extended louis kahn's architectural language of the kimball art museum situated next door into this new building. so fantastic! the kimball in ft. worth has long been one of my favorite museums to visit. i now add the modern to my top ten list. so great!!!

rosson crow at her opening show at the ft. worth modern above. behind her is one of my favorite pieces i saw at the museum today. i love that she has become such and accomplished artist at such a young age. see video here and interview here. she hails from plano,tx which is next door to allen tx where my mother has lived for the past 19 years.
Rosson Crow was born in Dallas, Texas in 1982, and lives and works in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 2004 and her MFA from Yale in 2006. Crow completed a residency at Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2006 and has had solo exhibitions at Honor Fraser, Los Angeles; CANADA, New York, and Galerie Nathalie Obadia, Paris.
