...San Francisco!

This area has to be one of my all time tops. It's only an hour from Orange County but sometimes it feels a world away.

TO DO:

The Ferry Building: just a short walk from Union Square and Market Street, fun eating and shops.

Japanese Tea Garden at Golden Gate Park: So Pretty...have some tea and take it all in! (have you figured out I love gardens?)

San Francisco Japanese Tea Garden

San Francisco Ballet: seriously talented people and a really good mix of classic and contemporary offerings.

Shopping along Sacramento Street and Hayes Valley: something for everyone.

Napa Valley: St. Helena, Yountville and Carneros are my go-tos.

TO STAY:

Hotel Vitale: sleek and contemporary, within walking distance of so much.

Cavallo Point: just across the bridge, but in a world of its own...dreamy!

Carneros Inn: two words... I die!

TO EAT AND DRINK:

Bar Jules: one of my all time favorites, anywhere...they know how to mix it up, and the simple interior design (especially the walnut top bar) kills me.

Citizen Cake: amazing desserts, Miette: amazing candy!

Spruce Restaurant: in a neighborhood I love, Presidio Heights, and designed by Stephen Brady for Williams Sonoma...very tasty!

Blue Fog Market: cute gourmet market, fabulous coffee...making me crave a tupelo honey latte right now.

Bouchon Bakery and Bistro (Yountville): another favorite, classic and delicious; if you're there on the weekend, the donuts are a must!

Ok, I could stay here a lot longer, but it is time to go...where to next?
