stop no. 1 jones on 3rd. is one of my old neighborhood eateries from my kwid days, i have since renewed my interest and jolene and i have made it a staple and favorite go to restaurant. we love the fresh white hamptonsesque high end country marketplace feel of the interiors. if it's a nice day we like to lunch outside however it's one of those rare gray days we love to sit inside at the table pictured below. i recommend the chinese chicken salad.
stop no. 2 beverly glen deli. this is one of our favorite places to eat...red velvet cake exactly like the one above and maybe a chocolate malt and maybe some cheeses cake. what!? we did not see nicole richie yesterday (i do lover her house of harlow fashions) at the deli but we did sit in the booth directly behind her in this pic. HOWEVER we did see paula abdul. pretty good celeb sighting. she is very petite and had some pretty amazing purple shoes on.
stop no. 3 u-haul storage unit on la cienega blvd. to look at sample sofas and fabrics. one of our vendors has a secret showroom here. what!?stop no. 4 h.d. buttercup. we browsed the showrooms in search of a perfect cabinet for one of our clients living rooms. we also saw thom filicia's line of furniture while there. love him and his book.
also environment furniture has a showroom at h.d.buttercup. we love this showroom and recently sold one of their coffee tables to one of clients. it was installed in his home a couple of weeks ago and it looks great! we couldn't be more pleased.
Stop no. 5
thos. moser. for a student competion in conjuction with fidim. we voted for our favorites out of seven competitors who were challenged to design a piece of furniture to accompany one of their chaise lounges. thos. has a cool showroom and their finely crafted furniture is modern in design but looks as if it were crafted by old world craftsmen. the wood is so soft and finished so well it felt like touching cashmere.

and last but not least mgmt released their newest album yesterday. i've been looking forward to a new album from them forever. they are one of my ipod staples. when i hear their music it makes me feel creative and motivated for some reason, even though some of their songs are about drugs. lol! i just really like their sound.
that's concludes our day of LA adventure and design. amanda
