opposite day.

sometimes amanda and i like to play the opposite day game. that game entails people (can be anyone) who make a decision that would be exact opposite of ours. this can be in regards to anything...business, finances, life choices, design, you get the point. that all being said (we like to assume that when people make these poor decisions, they are really partaking in our game...they just don't know it), i fell in love with this hotel at first just because of the name. the opposite hotel. how clever is that? secondly, when amanda and i were working in hospitality together, we always came across unique hotels such as these, and i wanted to get back into those searches for inspiration purposes. and for our two readers, of course.

this hotel is known for it's sleek interiors, unique pops of color, and vibrate restaurants. i really enjoy the use of lighting within the space. i often feel designers forget about that piece of the puzzle. the use of spatial dividers within the rooms (pictured below) really lends to great, creative design. my other favorite part of the opposite hotel is how they used modular furniture to resemble art and architecture. fantabulous! jolene.

fashion as art? sold.
