THRIFT FINDS FOR VINTAGE REVIVAL AND AN OLIOHOP ROOM REDO

I have to begin by saying what an amazing ride on Monday!

So much fun participating in the Olioboard OlioHop, focus Fashion+Decor. A big THANK YOU to Olioboard and their wonderful team for inviting me to be a part of the October OlioHop!

Here is the final room design I came up with for my theme (The Seven Year Itch/Everything Old Is New Again/Dior).

It's funny the direction design/art can take while in process.  This look was not what I had in mind. A bit more feminine than I planned.  But that's okay, I still like it.

I took the same space...

...Room Redo!

Changed the wallpaper, chair, few tables, rug and accessories. Left out the pink and a completely different feel.

You have to see all of the participating posts.
Very talented group!

Next subject.
So much I want to write about, my mind is spinning. So today I am going to focus on another kind of Redo, paint.  A topic I touched on in Monday's OlioHop.

I am consistently preaching on how color can make one of the biggest impacts to a space when designing or decorating a room.  Same goes for your face, ha.

I've been a big fan of antiques and old/vintage items for many years.  So thrilled antiquing is back and even better!  Improved products and easy access to DIY (do-it-yourself) tutorials, too much fun!

Have you heard of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint TM?  I'm going to be bold and say it may be one of the greatest paint products out there!

Last week I went on a field trip to Shades Of Amber.  A wonderful store located in Monument, Colorado.

Husband and wife team, Brad and Amber Unfred, have been in business together for over eleven years.  Within the last two years they started selling Annie Sloan Chalk Paint TM.

For those that love to find beat up, discarded by the roadside, "I'm Free" furniture, this is the paint you have to have!!!

No prep necessary...well maybe cleaning and washing up a little.  But no sanding or priming necessary.

Really, I swear!

Have you seen these painted white words?

They are painted right on the floor.
Oh yes, outdoor furniture, no extra coats or sealants necessary.  The paint bakes right in with the sun.

This little red tricycle is adorable.  Also painted in Annie Sloan Chalkpaint TM

So many finishes and options, I don't even know them all yet.

Loving the finish on this beautiful piece.

The crown molding too...

This chest is absolutely beautiful!  Words painted on the top as well.  Great price on this piece, it's probably sold since my visit.

Shades Of Amber has all of the tools needed.  Paint deck, books, the whole ball of wax.  Yes, the wax for the painted furniture too.

I am drooling over this hardware, great drawer pulls to replace on a recycled chest or desk drawer.

Paint fabric too.  Stenciling on the pillows, brilliant.

In need of an area rug?
Shades Of Amber has you covered, the floor that is.

Dash & Albert Rug Company.  Great selection to see, touch and choose from.

Another painted piece and more rugs.

Lovely accessories and pillows.

Vintage and twine.

This beautiful bed is covered in Pine Cone Hill.
Bedding, table linens, accessories & sleepwear.

More paint.

Also available at Shades Of Amber, Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.

Rustic & old, yes?

Finished with Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.  You can get the very old/beat up look your going for in the color you desire.

Classes are offered in store monthly and you can link up to their blog link parties.  See what others around the world are painting! A giveaway is being offered right now... pre-Christmas issue of Jeanne d'Arc Living magazine.

If you're in the area, stop by and and say hello, shop for a while!

Not close enough, be sure to visit their site here... SHADES OF AMBER.

Finally...E-Design by Snob Interior Design is official.  Go to the E-Design Page for details.  Additional information will be posted in the next week.
