Before & After: Union Jack Chest
I was recently turned onto this blog, The Southern Eclectic, written by a local gal. She has a phenomenal before and after. I wouldn't attempt to tackle this myself so cheers to her!

I'm Tickled Pink
These chair pads turned out great for my clients desk chair in
her bedroom!
Perfectly Pink with her Pink bubble table.
What happened
Wedding is done. I am so glad it's done for so many reasons I wouldn't know how or where to start. Anyways as promised I will show you how it turned out. I was very proud of my team and our ability to pull it off. We worked for 3 solid days from 6:30 am till 9 pm and that's not counting last weeks countless hours and nightmares to finish my clients back yard construction. Super stressful and yeah I am really glad it's over.

Now it's back to business as usual. New clients. New projects. New mind frame....woop woop.
Tricky Oval Window
Here is a great idea I found for dealing with those oval shaped windows. You know the ones - they add tons of character and make you love the house. Then you're not sure what to do with them once you realize you need more privacy and/or light control (like in a bathroom or master suite).
Well, here's a great solution.
For a more versatile take, I would use a sheer linen, as opposed to a damask, coupled with the nail heads.
PS: I saved this picture awhile ago and have no source for it. If this is yours or you know who it belongs to, please shoot me an email, and I will gladly give credit!
PSS: If you live in the Birmingham area and are looking for something fun to do this coming Saturday afternoon, Chill Art is having an art show from 4:30-8:00 pm at Escape Day Spa in Crestline. It's across from Mafiaoz's (you can't miss it).
Happy Weekend! M.
This Week I...
Loaded more stuff into my booth over at Southern Accents...there were more accessories in this vignette that literally sold as I was setting it up and before I could take this picture! I'm not complaining :)
Am working on something really cool for a client/friend's office over at Jackson Built Custom Homes...I can't wait to show you the final product!
Am designing some custom closets for a renovation project downtown and another one on Shem Creek that my talented friend Brett Elrod, of C. B. Elrod Construction, is working on...
I'm working on an outdoor living space/exterior renovation project in Wild Dunes. Here are some before pics...
And here are some of the inspiration photos. Think large scale slate floors, banquette dining area, zinc tabletops, teak furniture...bye bye black iron, bye bye hot tub, bye bye heavy black furnishings and helllooooo cool new style!
Speaking of outdoor spaces, here is an e-decorating plan I did for a client...
Don't forget from now until the end of August I am offering two rooms for the price of one on my e-decorating services! Quite the bargain! Email me for more information sidney@eclectic-idg.com
I love my job!
To quote Jeffery Alan Marks "I'm so happy to get paid for my hobby. I literally don't know what else I would do." Amen. I'm so sad the season is over (sad face).
Have a great weekend y'all!

Do you remember last time I was in France, I drove my mum's car into a wall...Well on Wednesday, my mum took her car to the Renault concession to get it inspected by the insurers...

"Papie..I'm going to tell you a very funny story....
I watched Harry Potter last night and I'm VE-RY tired...
You woke me up VE-RY early this morning!....
I didn't have breakfast....!
And NOW we have to go to Le Garage...."
She has a dry sense of humour which makes me laugh :-)
Anyway...while I'm away, Sophie will be working on our fantastically beautiful catalogue and we are after a few very nice images of Paris and London so if you would like your photos to be featured, please email Sophie(at)bodieandfou(dot)com. Unfortunately we will not be able to pay for the photos but we will be happy to credit you.

Hier soir, j'ai regarde Harry Potter tard et je suis TRES fatiguee...
Tu m'as reveille TRES tot ce matin!
Je n'ai meme pas eu de petit dejeuner!
Et MAINTENANT on doit aller a Le Garage...."
Elle a une humour tres British qui me fait mourir de rire :-)
Big thanks to Gabilil for the playdate & sleepover! Et ce soir c'est les vacances!
"please do not disturb"
I feel like I have just given birth. I am so tired and think I am coming down with a cold........boo. The wedding I designed and planned, took place in my clients backyard yesterday. It was really, really pretty, if I do say so myself, and I am quite proud and shocked that me and my AMAZING BEYOND WORDS TEAM were able to pull it off without burning the house down. We did the work of 20 pack mules, but there was only 4 of us ......pretty impressive. Thank the high heavens I am blessed with the craftiest of crews who are not only work horses, but are pleasant AND easy on the eyes to boot!!
I promise that after I have a day or re-couping, I will be back to my regularly scheduled programming.
Here are some pretty pictures to tide you over.

Back to it . . .
With school just around the corner, I am feeling the need to get organized. In fact, in many ways I feel like back to school is sort of the second New Year's for me. I find my self thinking about starting anew when the kids go back to school. So, I'm putting together a to do list of massive proportions. Things like - a new exercise program, completing projects around the house, parties to host, AND getting organized.
Here's one little step in the right direction. I found this on pinterest (it's amazing what you can find there), and man o man is it appealing to my Type A tendencies.

Any guesses what this is?
They are plastic grocery bags and a tutorial on how to fold them into this convenient little shape. Be still my heart. Do any of you do this? I know most of you are taking your own bags with you to the grocery, but I actually like to have a few of these around to use for other things. So I recycle them, but mine are not organized like this!
Hmmm. . . wonder how much I would have to pay my kids to learn how to do this and get that cabinet organized? Have a great day. M.

I love this...
I took the black plattan headphones and white one to France a few weeks ago for the photoshoot of our new catalogue and went running with them 3 times...What can I say...I love them!
The little headphones I had with my i-Phone kept falling off my ears and were driving me crazy but these...they just stay nicely on my head during 8K and being able to run with loud music and no disruption has made my runs a lot more enjoyable!
Now may I shyly say that the photos below were taken by my brother and styled by me....

Welcome Home - perfectly pastel
