yesterday and today are FINALLY crisp, fall days, which allowed me to reminisce back to college. i am originally from the midwest, and though i truly miss the people and landscape, i am sure i would never move back. that being said, there are days when i do get homesick, which makes me turn on country music and make homemade chicken and noodles. this particular string of homesickness sparked a memory of college and an architect, tadao ando. i remember my professor loving his work so much, we spent most of our time during one semester studying his style. here is a book i recommend along with some picture of his projects. he is a japanese architect who is known for his creative uses of light and natural forms. along with his play on light, he is also magnificent at creating solids and voids and contrasting between light and dark. tadao is the force behind modernism as you will see in these pictures. jolene.
