My style, that daybed, our office move....

I'm so happy to have found this gorgeous photos on Temp*files. It is exactly what I had in mind for the vintage army bed I got from one of my sponsors Chez Les Voisins last summer for our holiday home in France .
Between wallpapering our bedroom and well..enjoying our holidays at the beach, I didn't get around to take decent photos, well not as good the one Claude took on Temp*files anyway, so this one is perfect.
I spotted two of them in Isabel Marant's flat in Paris on Refinery29mine will end up either in Mila's room or in our tree house for afternoon naps up in the air.

On a completely different subject, we found new offices for BODIE and FOU!!!!

Thanks to Viktoria who reads this blog and is a regular customer of BODIE and FOU (thank you so much Viktoria!), we are moving in with Bombay Duck in Acton.
So this is the perfect time to put all these inspiring workspaces I collected on Pinterest or the ones I wrote about here including Isabel Marant's workspace to good use and come up with something really nice.
Our new offices are gorgeous - think original floorboards in an old industrial warehouse with massive windows and heaps of natural light! As they are slightly bigger, we will be able to set up our own styling/photography studio  and showroom so come and say hello to us next year!

{Thank you for leaving a comment. Reading them always makes me very happy}

(C) photo Temp*files | Similar daybed from http://www.chezlesvoisins.fr/

{Merci de laisser un commentaire. Cela me fait toujours plasir de les lire}

Behind-the-scene photoshoot with a Danish team

Yesterday, my home was photographed & styled by a Danish team...I was busy working on our new site in the kitchen so I let them get on with it. After 3 photoshoots in the space of a few weeks including my favourite in MILK Decoration, I wasn't sure how different their shots could be from what we had seen before but the stylist was very good and they made some great photos.
The photo on the wall next to the BAU pendant light (photo 2) is one of Mila taken by Francois (who has now a new website here). I will show later on the whole series we did around this gorgeous black tutu - it looks fabulous!
The Monkey print is part of our AW 2012 collection and should arrive this week. If you haven't requested a copy of our new catalogue, make sure you do it here.
Have a great day!

My home in the gorgeous MILK DECORATION

It has been absolutely crazy lately on the work front. Our new BODIE and FOU AW/2012 catalogue is almost ready (you can request a copy here).
The new www.bodieandfou.com website is going live this week and I really can't wait to show it to you because I'm totally in love with it and it is going to be SO much better and we had 3 photoshoots at home recently + one more on Wednesday.
However, one major highlight for me, was seeing our family home in the fabulous MILK DECORATION which is now available in French and English.
I have been a fan of this magazine for years so I can't tell you how happy and proud I am and their new version is fantastic!
There are some gorgeous features on the French designer Caroline Gomez, Lara Deam who founded the inspiring DWELL magazine, Isabelle et Matthieu, two French architects who have a beautiful home and on Nathan and Catherine who created the ever-so-inspiring Kinfolk.
To share the love, we are offering one lucky winner the chance to win a copy of the latest MILK DECORATION.
To participate, simply leave a comment on the blog & our Facebook page.
Competition ends on 05/10/2012

One gorgeous new print and new hair...

It's not very often that I post images of myself (like never!) but yesterday we had a photoshoot + interview in my home for The Scotland on Sunday magazine (which will get featured this weekend) so I went to the 'haircoiffeur' (hairdresser) as Mila says.
Once the photoshoot was over with Debra Hurford Brown, the photographer sent by the newspaper, Francois and I carrying on styling the new BODIE and FOU collection which includes this gorgeous SMALL TALK print I took home and he also took a few portraits of me while the blow-dry was still looking good...
The print is by One Must Dash, a creative label set up by two talented Swedish girls: Anki Josefsson & Anneli Sandström who made a gorgeous collection of prints exclusively available for BODIE and FOU. I hope you'll love this one as much as I do.

I love Pinterest SO much!

Saying that I love Pinterest is an understatement!
I can not think of a better way of keeping together all the things that inspire me to be more creative, make our home a nicer place and make BODIE and FOU what it is - a haven of inspiration.
So if you are already enjoying this little blog and love our concept store then you may also enjoy the various boards I created on Pinterest and see what inspires me on a daily basis.
You will find pictures of my home in London and our holidays home in France,  gorgeous interiors, little creative projectsdecoration details I love and a lot more inspiring things about food, styling, kids bedrooms, etc.
I'm also hugely grateful to Ben Silbermann, the clever geek that came up with this brillant idea because frankly, I think Pinterest has pushed me to better at styling, photography and even cooking!

BODIE and FOU in Taiwan

I know we get a fair amount of press but even after 7 years, it never ceases to please me. Today, Siham sent me this screen shot and I have to admit that it really makes me happy to see my baby featured in the front cover of a Taiwan magazine. I think it's pretty cool!

This was the workspace shot we did for our first Christmas catalogue last year to launch our inspiring workspace collection and soon, I will show the one we shot in Amsterdam which is very cool too.
Have a great Sunday afternoon

Happy Thursday...

What a week it has been...our Spring Summer catalogue was mailed to our customers last Thursday in the UK and has kept us very busy. We even had an order from a postman who ordered the Rob Ryan plates after seeing them on the back cover of our catalogue he was putting in people's mail boxes. How cool is that!?
I'm really glad because I can't begin to tell you how much work this has been...but it was worth it! The response has been amazing and I really thank Vosges Paris, French By Design and The Lifestyle Editor for their wonderful write-ups.
I'm also over the moon that so many of you loved the shot I styled for our linen collection. I dreamt about this shot a long time ago and it came out exactly as I wanted it to be which was not a given since it was the first time I did something like this.
The large size of the blue linen duvet cover  and vintage pink duvet cover are now out of stock (hopefully back soon) and I will aim to style the soft grey duvet cover over the next few days to show you how gorgeous it is.
In the meantime, here is a quick update on products availability....
Our gorgeous pom poms and fluro confetti garlands are all back in stock, we have only 2 rabbit lamps left but more will arrive at the beginning of June, the Typed Love print is back in stock in the smaller size and we have a new gorgeous Un Dimanche a Paris kitchen towel in stock. Have a great day

Breakfast styling

I'm trying a few things before Le photographe arrives to put the last shots to bed...and before 10 New-Zealanders invade our home for a kiwi BBQ.
This is for the back cover of our SS/12 catalogue which will feature the beautiful Rob Ryan plates but I'm late so will carry on after the BBQ

Paris | New Catalogue | ♥

I'm off to Paris this afternoon to attend Maison & Objet and of course I'm very excited because I haven't seen my sister and my mum since the last one in September and I know that Saturday we will do our usual shopping trip to MERCI and Zadig & Voltaire in Le Marais and Sunday, I'm catching up with my two best friends but at the show, between meetings, I'm also going to meet up with fellow bloggers like Lau, Cristine, and Carine which should be great fun!

As I working on our new homepage this morning, I could help thinking how much I enjoyed styling some of these shots below* for our first mail order catalogue and given how successful our catalogue was, we have decided that not only we will produce a bigger one for Christmas 2012 but we will also send out a mini (but SO inspiring and beautiful) Summer one.

You can still receive the Winter one by requesting a free copy here until the end of February and we will mail you the Summer one when it's ready, which should be in May.
Have a great week!

*the one in the top right hand corner was styled by VosgesParis

My styling job for BODIE and FOU

Last Summer, I went to France to shoot the BODIE and FOU Christmas catalogue with François (behind-the-scene photos I took here). We had one week to do a few shots which we did at my parents' place and thanks God for that, because my mum is a bit of hoarder and she had every single thing I had forgotten to pack (string, cellotape, industrial shelving, wooden planks), you name it, she had it!
I styled four shots (front cover, page 5, page 23 and page 28) and while I enjoyed every minute of it, I found there was a massive difference in styling a few things in my home to achieve a pretty look and styling a shot for the catalogue (let's say more pressure!)
However, my favourite styling job was by far, the workspace one, probably because it is very close to how I would style my own creative space at home, mixing inspiring images from magazines with more personal things like photos from Mila.
Doing a job I love, I'm a firm believer that is very important to surround ourself at work with things that are going to inspire us and bring you a little happiness so I also put a little pink artwork together to feature what Mila once told me: "Maman, tu es la reine des bisous" (Mummy, you're the Queen of kisses).
This workspace has a soft industrial vibe, inspired by the new House Doctor DK but also, all these beautiful images I collect on Pinterest and we had such an amazing response that it looks like we will do another catalogue and this, will become a regular feature (Yippee!).
Maybe we can have some guest contributors...
Below, top image is the shot finished and then coming altogether for the catalogue

On the shelf: Clip on light | roll of Scrapwood wallpaper | wire letter tray and then the stool (the trestles are from Ikea).

Friday round-up

We had so many things happening this week that I don't know where I am...So here is a short round-up on what I can remember...
Our catalogue was featured on the gorgeous House and Garden blog.
We are currently finalizing the second UK drop which is scheduled on 18th November. If you haven't requested your copy yet, please make sure you do so over the weekend.

Stock wise, some products are now already sold out but the good news is that our beloved Feathers art print and Batgirl print are back in stock early next week.
The Rabbit lamp is also back in stock but they go fast.
Do you remember my post here about Shanna Murray gorgeous wall stickers? Well they'll be in stock on Monday.
House Doctor DK is sending us the last two wooden desks for 2011 and we will have one side table available.
There is still a few tickets left for our Wine Tasting/Fashion evening and our team will be all there to meet you all and offer you 15% on anything from the catalogue that evening, should you wish to attend.

Last but not least, we are launching the BODIE and FOU Catalogue App for iPad at the end of the month!!! I'm very excited by this because since I have been using Kelly Hoppen's App at home, it has been on my wishlist of things to do with BODIE and FOU.
We are working with Pilkington Bedwell on this, a company that did great Apps for Donna Wilson and a lot of other big companies.
The BODIE and FOU Catalogue App for iPad will be free and available worldwide.
So that's about it for now, Mila has a sleepover at her friend tonight so I'm going on a date with my man.
Have a wonderful weekend!

In the shop this week: industrial stool by House Doctor

The stool by House Doctor DK was one of the first thing I spotted on their stand at an interiors trade show where I took my mum. I loved the design straight away because it was exactly the kind of things I had in mind for our future kitchen (see pic 3).
While it would be great to have 6 original white Tolix chairs around our table, I thought this stool was a great alternative to achieve a similar look at a more affordable cost.

I also love the combination of metal and nordic wood that gave this stool, its soft industrial vibe and the little detail of the sentence "Have a seat' stamped in black on the wood.
When it came to style our workspace shot for the BODIE and FOU catalogue (pic 5), it was just perfect for the job and we've recently worked with Domus tiles on a commercial project to refurbish their trendy offices in Clerkenwell and hopefully I will have more photos to show you next month. In the meantime, you can see a close up of the stool on the last picture shot by François and styled by myself.

Photo 1. Trine Thorsen | Photo 2. House Doctor DK | Photo 3. Pierre Vasseur |
Photo 4. Red large metal letter, wooden desk, industrial table lamp | Photo 5 & 6.
