Inspiration Is All A Twitter

Snob Inspired Designs

The beginning stages of any design needs to begin somewhere.

For one Dining Room I found inspiration in the black & white photos of Colorado Springs from The early 1900's the client had hanging on a wall.

Sepia tones are always a favorite.  Natural elements, a beaded placemat and a votive candle pull together and express the inspiration nicely.

Fabrics and wall colors complement each other.

Paint colors are Sherwin Williams and fabrics are Wesco Fabrics.

If you're feeling inspired, you can ordere these fabrics today.

Complete the order form to fulfill your inspiration.

A Work In Progress

I have to say that I truly have some of the most wonderful clients.  Not only do I love design, I love designing with wonderful people!  It's even better when we are progressively working through their homes over long periods of time, I'm talking about years.  Getting to know their personalities and knowing what is going on with their children and spouses, it's a bonding experience that brings me great joy.

I'm talking about this because I visited one of those clients yesterday.  Delivering a custom ottoman, covered in a hair-on-hide she has had for a number of years.  In fact, it was a wildebeest that she shot herself.  It is intriguing to learn about the interest, hobbies and experiences of others that are so different from yourself.  I have never been hunting and probably never will.

Our work began last year with a Color Consultation to warm up the white walls.  They had just moved into a brand new construction.

We chose Sw6134 Netsuke from Sherwin-Williams for the base/all-over color and it turned out great.

 Then needing something on the windows for privacy, came window treatments.

Finally, after completing a few key rooms in the the home with artwork hung and accessories placed, we are working on some soft comfort touches, Pillows!

Have to have pillows.

We chose some beautiful fabrics from WescoFabrics;

I'm thrilled with the the fabrics and trims by Trend-Fabrics;

Exciting will be the day when the pillows are ready for delivery.  By that time there will be an addition to the family, a new baby!

It's the thrill of the hunt.  Great clients and great design. How can I not love this job?

A Home Fit for a SNOB, May Sitting Room

Jane and Nicole, with the final design

Hello fellow Snobs!  Today we'd like to share some photos of a recent install for a clients sitting room.   Let me set the stage for you:  The client, a renter, wanted to add color to her space since she is forbidden from painting.  We have to work with:  beige sofa, beige chair, white-washed sofa table, beige carpet and beige walls.  Lets take a look at some befores:

This is what our room looked like during the initial design consultation.  Pretty beige, no?  Who is the pooch?  Meet Asher, our clients adorable Goldendoodle.  We love Asher!

The clients were married on April 9th, 2011, we LOVE adding personal touches to make your home feel special and unique to you and yours.

The Snobs hard at work!

Custom pillow covers to fit over existing pillows

A colorful, chunky throw to add texture and incorporate our palette throughout the space

Our clients wedding cake topper, little birdies, appropriately!

I love the way the light from this ceramic cut out globe plays on the wall

These colorful mixed media prints served as inspiration in our space, picking up color from the existing drapery panels our client has in her adjacent kitchen and dining space:

This project was so much fun to work on.  We took the space from boring beige, to a cohesive room, filled with color, texture, simple patterns, and additional storage and seating.  We love the warm, cozy feel we've achieved for our clients.

A huge thank you to our photographer Sara Michelle.  She makes stuff.  Adorable stuff.  Take a look at her store   http://www.knittymomma.etsy.com/
