i hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. they sure go by quickly. we went to an estate sale on saturday. great finds. not affordable. it was really hard to leave the cute ranch-style house in bel air, but next on our list was a quaint deli up in the hills with fantastic food. it is hardly known by most, but we really like their atmosphere and company. typically the company includes that of the celebrity kind, so you know i'm always up for it. once we enter, i immediately spot jon voight. luckily it's a seat yourself restaurant, so of course we sat next to him. he talked to us. frequently. about the iowa game. yes, about a football game. who knew jon voight was into college football? i think i turned so red in the face i'm sure he thought i was choking on something. the entire time we kept thinking. you spawned angelina jolie. do you have brad pitt's cell phone number? where do you live? can we go there? is that weird? once he left he told us to have a nice day. omg. jon voight told us to have a nice day. i guess that means we have to do it. although the hawkeyes lost and will not be going to the rose bowl, i am so excited we saw and TALKED with jon. yep, jon. not to be confused with jon lovitz, whom i've also seen at the same restaurant. anyway, back to the reality that is the blogging world.
i have had my eye on the design firm desk of lola for quite some time; when i wanted to post a couple weeks ago, their site wasn't working. well, hallelujah, they are back in business. (though i'm sure it was my old computer and not their site). they have offices and clients in la and nyc. i love their touch of whimsy and the concept of their digital mood movies. desk of lola uses these digital mood movies in the first consultation meeting with their clients--no fabric or paint allowed, only a mood movie that can range from photography to a clip from an actual movie. this is brilliant. desk of lola has been featured in domino and oprah. sigh. i can see why--check out images from their portfolio. i know i'm not the first or last to blog about these talented women.
i wanted to leave you with a quote from one of the owners, alexandra. "your home should be a reflection of whom you most want to be. all interior design is about telling a story, the story of life." well said. jolene.
