Fluo & pastel touches

Thank you so much for all your feedback on these two shots for our Spring/Summer catalogue 2012. It was very helpful and interesting (we got lots of feedback on Facebook and Twitter too) and we have now re-shot the BAU pendant light and the San-Francisco map print incorporating most feedback.
Having worked a lot lately around blues, greys, wood and whites, it was nice to see something different such as the home of Norwegian ceramist Silje Aune Eriksen, featured in the latest issue of Elle Decoration Norway.
I love the touches of pastels and pink masking tape that liven up her gorgeous flat, the beams and love, love, love the last shot of the vintage metal cabinet with storage boxes on top of it....another one to add to this series of visually inspiring storage solutions.
Enjoy!

Spring is SO around the corner

Last night we came back from a wonderful week of skiing. The snow was fab, the weather was very sunny and we all look like pandas now but I'm feeling incredibly energized and while I was away, the blog was listed Top 10 French Inspired Style & Design blogs by Stacey Lindsay, a correspondent for Remodelista
This morning, I'm going to pop in the office to pick up some of the gorgeous linens we received and have an inspiring styling/shooting day with François

Amazing how just one yellow item makes you crave for Spring. I so want a yellow pair of trousers!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Yellow + House Doctor = Lemon bliss

We received a big delivery* from House Doctor DK which gives me butterflies each time.
Our new arrivals include these colourful yarns, a quirky Owl lamp and who forgot to order the shades that go with it!! (ME!..duhh!), some gorgeous hooks and this Pipe light!

Now the Pipe light in yellow really fired up my imagination because he reminded me one gorgeous shots styled by Shane Powers which Holly featured on Decor8.

Having worked last week on a soft, feminine, boho workspace for our catalogue, I thought it would be nice today to look at achieving a feel-good workspace around yellow...

It is up to you if you want to paint a whole wall in yellow to create a feature but I think yellow, although very cheerful, is a tough colour and it can be tricky to find the hue of yellow that will really work with the natural light in your home. However, it is very easy to inject touches of yellow and achieve a feel-good mood around your workspace.
You can put together a little moordboard like Leslie with fabrics, images of things you're dreaming of (i.e. this CV lust-have clutch bag)

Or simply paint an old picture frame in yellow and add a few lemon touches with pretty art prints and illustrations on your wall.

Or you can paint an old chair found in a second-hand shop and add more masculine accessories so that the space works for you and your hubby. The London weekend print is similar to the one above and the clip-on light by House Doctor will work as a treat!

Hit me with orange!

Third day of shooting and I woke up in the morning not feelin like P. Daddy but like crashing the back of my mum's car into the wall...sigh
While my Dad was seriously getting stressed out by the broken wall (yes! I broke the car AND the wall!), my mum and I started laughing hysterically, saying that it could have been worse....the wall could have fallen down onto the recently purchased pool which would have then exploded and then flood the house...

Right now, I need orange trousers, loud music, a crazy dance with Mila and go back to my photoshoot!

Inspiring....

but I have absolutely no idea where I found this image sorry!
Have a great weekend! I'm off to the Spirit of Summer fair and then afterwards, I will try to do my own Koushi lamp to add the final touches to our lounge as our home will be photographed early June by Tara Bradford (very exciting!) for a new, cool, digital magazine similar to Rue magazine - but UK focused.

I like this...

Well, I have to admit that I don't think painting a wall in green (Dulux's Forest Falls 2 here) would have even crossed my mind but I think it works brilliantly in this room!
Personally, I love the green trestles and the white floorboards so I think I would have painted the wall in white to make the green trestles stand out and keep the whole vibe fresh and light.
