Amaryllis Truth Studio {giveaway}

 

As I am sure you know I love art and I really love the beautiful pieces that Allie from Amaryllis Truth creates.  I cannot remember how I first saw her work but I have been enjoying them for a little while now.  As with many things in the blogging world I met Allie over time via email and twitter and with reading her blog I feel like I know her.  She is a young aspiring artist who is extremely talented and I am so excited to be able to offer one of her pieces here as a giveaway to you my lovely readers.

Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch, New Mexico

Ghost Ranch, once the home of artist Georgia O'Keefe, is located behind the pinon trees.

Georgia O'Keeffe is an artist who has been much admired by my family over the years. We became aware of her simple and striking work through my uncle who resides in New Mexico, USA.
Sixty miles northwest of Santa Fe is a simple adobe structure called 'Ghost Ranch' , which was O'Keeffe first home in New Mexico. She lived and worked here every summer and fall for the last 40 years of her life. O'Keeffe continued her strong minimalist aesthetic in Ghost Ranch with austere rooms, functional furniture and careful arrangements of found objects. Some days you need the clean lines of something simple to make everything fall into place.  I am totally in love with these paintings by Amaryllis Truth and this table is screaming for placement in a clients home!  I have to use them both somewhere soon or I will have to buy them for myself!

Check out the stunning work of Anna-Wili Highfield, a Sydney based artist currently making sculptures of animals out of paper. I think these birds are amazing and an unique form of art. Just imagine having one of these in a room with you - I'd probably talk to it. Check out more her work here. Down the rabbit hole to artist Meghan Boody’s tripped-out Tribeca wonderland.

we just received word that we will be given an afternoon tour of the chelsea art galleries while in new york for the launch of the new tradhome magazine. it's been awhile since i was in the big apple and i could not be more excited about this trip!! today's post is inspired by my love of the unusual. since i was a kid i have had the love for things that are just a little or a lot "off" the normal beaten path. at first glance boody's work almost seems normal. but take a second look and you'll see a very different world. I want to play i spy games with her work. the below images is her home in tribeca as captured by nymag. xo amanda
