The Oyster Inn {Waiheke}

The Oyster Inn {Waiheke}

Vintage cane furniture in the bar area.

Dining on the verandah.

Eating at the bar counter.

The Pearl, private dining room.

One of the three luxury boutique hotel  rooms. Yes please.

Welcome to Waiheke Island's The Oyster Inn. Recently opened to the public in the beachy village of Oneroa, Waiheke - doesn't it look amazing?
Take a 40 mins ferry ride from downtown Auckland and you can be dining on the ocean view vernadah, or having a cocktail in the bar or just hanging out. The kitchen is open all day long (the menu looks delicious) and the yummy boutique hotel rooms are available to book from the end of this week. Find out more here.

New York Weekend House

Frank Muytjens

Kitchen with vintage lights and draughting stools.

Living room with vintage stools used as side tables.

Muytjens' cool wardrobe.

Main bedroom.

This is the weekend home of Frank Muytjens, the head of men's design at JCrew (a US fashion brand that I love!). This two bedroom house is located two hours out of Manhattan in a town called Hillsdale. I think the house has a great lived in, masculine and unpretentious feel about it. Read more about the home here.

Whare Kea Chalet in Vogue Living

The Whare Kea Chalet in the Southern Alps.

This is Whare Kea Chalet, found high in the Southern Alps and accessible by a 20 minutes helicopter ride from Wanaka. Connected to Whare Kea Lodge, this chalet is used as a winter base for heliskiing daytrips and for overnight stays in the summer. Vogue Living has highlighted this chalet's use as an artist residence - imagine staying here for 10 days to be inspired by the remote location and its dramatic surroundings? Stunning. Read more about it here.

Dickebusch Beach House by Koskela

A friend lent me an old issue of Monocle magazine the other day and looking through I came across this beach house holiday rental. Called Dickebusch, this home is located at Patonga, a fishing village located an hour and quarter from Sydney. It was restored and renovated by Russel Koskela and Sasha Titchkopsky of interior design firm, Kosklea and they filled the home with furniture and products that you can buy from their showroom in Sydney. Looks like summer time bliss to me.

The Bay of Many Coves, Marlborough Sounds

The delightful and clever Kara Rosenlund is singing the praises of New Zealand after her recent honeymoon here with her new husband. Brisbane based, Rosenlund is a woman of many talents (you can read her Inspiration Profile here to find out about them) and her photography skills came in handy when she beautifully recorded her South Island stay. Make sure you see the rest of her story and our beautiful country here. Thanks for making us look so good, Kara - you're always welcome to come back!
