greige and pink...

I fell for the eclectic mix in this space, that and the windows and multiple fireplaces.  The wall color is fantastic and the little accents of pink and feminine touches are just perfection.  This is the home of Hilary Robertson, the owner of Mrs. Robertson in Ft. Greene and it is a divine mix of vintage and well traveled collections, just the way a home should feel.

Masculine lounge...

I fell madly for this room when I saw it in Atlanta Home and Lifestyles.  I love the masculine feel of the space and the contrast of the dark upholstery with  the white walls.  Another great detail is the way that designer Jimmy Stanton balances out the window with the stack of books and antlers.

Cisco Brothers Los Angeles

I have been working with Cisco Brothers for the past 10 years and I have never been disappointed!  Their attention to detail and beautiful styles are what make them one of my all time favorites as well as my go to companies when I am designing a project.

I have been using these hand blown jug lamps in a bunch of my projects as of late- so pretty either lit or unlit.

I was in their home store in LA a few months back to pull fabrics and took a few pictures..  They have showrooms all over - I highly suggest you check them out if you can!

Wing chair before and after..

It has been a while since I have had these back and I have been so bad about taking pictures of them.  I am so happy with the way they turned out and I think that they will just get better and better as I wash them and have them tighten up a bit.

Another busy week this week and I am looking forward to completing a few things around here and moving along with the bathroom.  I have been reading and trying to rest up enough so that I can get some things taken care of.

Another project that I have been working on for a little while installed a few weeks back.. I love love the way the banquettes turned out with the metal tables...  It was a very fun space, I cannot wait for the TV's to get in to see it in full effect!

Design & the City

I am one of a million girls out there who are eagerly waiting for Sex & the City 2 to hit the theaters. I definitely enjoy watching the storyline, characters and fashion, but the interiors are what have me truly excited! These sneak peaks will have you drooling right along with me...

{Heather from Habitually Chic has done an AMAZING job collecting these images of the movie - and her AMAZING readers have helped her to uncover the mystery behind the textiles, wallpapers and furniture pieces.}

Carrie and Big's bedroom is perfect. I really like the shape of the headboard, and the mix of that gorgeous peacock blue and lilac-grey.

The wallpaper is Cole & Son's Rococo Damask...

And the secretary - which I totally want - is the Hallings from Hickory Chair...

Here is another view of the headboard upholstery. This Moroccan-inspired textile is Kravet's Velvet Gate Tuxedo...

I can't say enough about their perfect living room. The chair, the styling of the coffee table and that stunning blue ottoman...

Heather from Habitually Chic points out how they have interestingly arranged the coffee table books standing up. I have to agree that it looks great - definitely want to try this out at home!

Now, lets discuss that chair. Heather has done her homework and has found the EXACT 1940's chair on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman in NYC! It can be yours for a measly $16,500. You can read her full chair account 'here'.

On to the foyer. I love anything with birds so Katie Ridder's Oiseau paper is a new favorite...

The dining room chairs are upholstered in Lee Jofa's Belgravia...

Lastly, a peak into my dream closet! I love how Big's side is more masculine with a medium brown stain and simple lines, while Carrie's side has a fresh feminine feel with white, beautifully detailed woodwork. This is closet perfection!

Thanks to Habitually Chic and her readers for all of their collaborative detective work!

Is Two Better Than One?

I dragged my husband and baby out this weekend to shop for a new sofa. (Lucky me, we found an amazing sofa, chair & ottoman! But that's not what this post is about ;) ) While out browsing I came across a chair upholstered in two different fabrics - well actually, it was leather and a great textured fabric. What do you think? Could be a fun way to introduce more texture and interest.

This idea could be fantastic in the right room. Brings a bit of a modern, unique look to an otherwise standard arm chair. In the case of this beauty from HD Buttercup, I like how it was upholstered in materials of the same color.

Then I got home and was surfing my usual design blogs (in this case it was Desire to Inspire) and found this image of a room at a Firmdale Hotel in London - what a coincidence! A perfect example of when this could be really fun!
