In love with buntings & garlands

Last Sunday, Steve & had all the happy campers around (kids and grown ups = 18 people +2 dogs) to have one last BBQ together before our friends Emma & Richard are heading to Hong-Kong.
Since we added these gorgeous pom poms, I have developed a bit of a crush for anything that helps me to add a WOW factor to a kids party or garden party in no time and I had great plans to decorate our garden but the British Summer being what it is this year, we ended up having an indoor BBQ - which was fun but really noisy.
Part of my plan, was to decorate the garden with these lovely white pom poms and this Bibi bunting which I had got for Mila's Birthday last year because they suited the style of our garden but I really love this crochet bunting.
Mostly because I can't do crochet to save my life but also because I really love how sweet and retro it looks

A life with pom poms...

Finally it feels like Summer!
I have been feeling a bit under the weather lately, too busy at work, baby no 2 not coming (I know I know... we can't rush these things but when Mila tells Steve that he smells like M&Ms and other funny things she regularly comes up with, I really can't wait to expand our franco-kiwi tribu).
Anyway, today is gorgeous and I feel like hanging garlands, buntings and pom poms throughout the house and outside in the garden...
Colourful tissue paper pom poms are such an easy and affordable way to inject a dose of feel-good, happy vibes in a room and are amazing to create a memorable birthday party or wedding.
For the photoshoot with MILK magazine last Saturday, I hung a mix of softpink, fuschia and aubergine pom poms by Mila's window. We had to take them down in the evening to bring her roller blind down but my plan is to hang them from the ceiling like pic no 2. I think it will look fab, don't you think?

In my dreams...

Busy weekend ahead....between the usual Saturday morning errands for Mila, we are off to Steve's God-daughter's communion and are likely to come home late and merry tonight...
And of course, tomorrow Mila's Birthday party is on... and I'm half-ready for it.
I was planning to attempt making gorgeous, homemade marshmallows for my pink theme but this is SOOOO not going to happen this weekend, instead I got some fat-free ones from the supermarket.

Anyway, if you have a more relaxed weekend, you may want to try this....although given the hot weather, I think sipping mojitos outside in the garden would be a lot more appropriate!
Have a great weekend!

Breakfast time...

Mila is eating her poached egg on toast kindly prepared by her papa...Lucas (a LOT bigger now than on the photo) goes out in the garden, leaving the door open.
Mila: "Luuuccaas...Can you close the door! I'm cold"
Papa: "Are you legs broken?"
Mila: "No they are frozen"
I couldn't help laughing...Kids are such matter-of-fact.

I'm on the look-out for great ideas to celebrate the Minx' birthday. Last year, we had a ball preparing it together so it's back on! She and I were super excited about doing a Ugly Betty themed B'day party but it looks like I'm the only mum who watch the series with her five-years old daughter :-(
In the meantime, I'm loving what Chelsea did for Project Wedding
