When I came across The Selby's latest posting, I instantly recognised the work of Ilse Crawford of Studio Ilse. This is Mathias Dahlgren restaurant at the Grand Hotel Stockholm, Sweden and while you must look at the rest of The Selby's profile here to see the whole experience, I'm appreciating getting up close to Crawford's design and details. On Studio Ilse website, it explains that the 'restaurant design expresses chef Mathias Dahlgren's gastronomic philosophy in 3D'.
I like the contrast between the fast food bar and slow food restaurant as well as the amazing collection of furnishings and lighting used. And how about that patterned tile floor? Awesome.

Stylish Home of a Book Publisher

I love books so when I saw the home of Angelika Taschen, a book publisher, on The Selby, I could not be anything but impressed. Not only does she publish great books and get to take them home, she has one stylish and beautifully composed home in Berlin. Nice.

Home of Andy and Kate Spade

The ecletic New York home of Andy and Kate Spade, former owners and creative directors of Kate Spade and Jack Spade, has been widely published over the years. I like this series from The Selby - a great and more informal approach of them being at home and showing the details that make the apartment very cosy and homely. Check out the cool wide yellow and white stripe bed headboard in the bedroom - nice.

love & life in venice

i know it's kinda cheating to re post something you got in your email 10 mins ago from the selby...but whateves. i am so inspired by mark and Eileen that i felt i must post about them today. i'm drawn to their lifestyle, their home decor and their love for each other. they make it all seem simple. this girl even makes me want to cook. what? Yum! xo amanda

i like that the floors are dark and the base moulding is a medium wood. usually you see the floor and the base matching or the base painted out white. looks good!
